How to Analysis Of Bearing Damage & Solutions

1. Stripping

Phenomenon: The running surface is peeled off, and it is obviously convex and concave after peeling.

the reason:

1) Improper use of excessive load

2) Poor installation

3) Poor accuracy of shaft or bearing box

4) The clearance is too small

5) Foreign body intrusion

6) Rust occurs

7) Decrease in hardness caused by abnormal high temperature

Measures:

1) Re-study the conditions of use

3) Reconsider the clearance

4) Check the machining accuracy of the shaft and bearing box

5) Study the design around the bearing

6) Check the method of installation

7) Check lubricant and lubrication method

2. Burns

Phenomenon: The bearing heats up and changes color, and then burns and cannot rotate

the reason:

1) The clearance is too small (including the clearance of the deformed part is too small)

2) Insufficient lubrication or improper lubricant

3) Excessive load (excessive preload)

4) Roller deflection

Measures:

1) Set proper clearance (increase the clearance)

2) Check the type of lubricant to ensure the amount of injection

3) Check the conditions of use

4) Prevent positioning errors

5) Check the design around the bearing (including heating of the bearing)

6) Improve bearing assembly method

3. Crack defects

Phenomenon: Partially chipped and cracked

5) Poor accuracy on the installation side (too large corner round)

6) Poor use (use a copper hammer to insert large foreign objects)

Measures:

4. The cage is damaged

Phenomenon: loose or broken rivets, broken cage

the reason:

1) The torque load is too large

2) High-speed rotation or frequent speed changes

3) Poor lubrication

4) Jammed with foreign objects

5) Great vibration

6) Poor installation (installation in an inclined state)

7) Abnormal temperature rise (resin cage)

Measures:

1) Check the conditions of use

5) Study the rigidity of the shaft and the bearing box

5. Abrasions and jams

Phenomenon: The surface is rough, accompanied by small dissolving; the scratches between the ring ribs and the roller end are called jams

the reason:

1) Poor lubrication

2) Foreign body intrusion

3) Roller deflection caused by bearing tilt

4) Oil fracture on the rib surface caused by large axial load

5) Rough surface

6) The rolling element slides greatly

6. Rust and corrosion

Phenomenon: Part or all of the surface is rusted, rusting like the pitch of rolling elements

1) Poor storage condition

2) Improper packaging

3) Insufficient rust inhibitor

4) Intrusion of water, acid solution, etc.

5) Hold the bearing directly by hand

Measures:

1) Prevent rust during storage

2) Strengthen the sealing performance

3) Regularly check lubricating oil

4) Pay attention to the use of bearings

7. Abrasion

Phenomenon: Red rust colored abrasive particles are produced on the mating surface

1) Insufficient interference

2) The bearing swing angle is small

3) Insufficient lubrication (or in a non-lubricated state)

4) Unsteady load

5) Vibration during transportation

Measures:

1) Check the interference and lubricant coating status

2) The inner and outer rings are packaged separately during transportation, and pre-compression is applied when they cannot be separated

8. Wear

Phenomenon: Surface wear, resulting in dimensional changes, often accompanied by abrasion and wear marks

2) Strengthen the sealing performance

9. Electric corrosion

Phenomenon: The rolling surface has a pit-like pit, and the further development is like a corrugated plate

Reason: the rolling surface is energized

Measures: make a current bypass valve; take insulation measures to prevent current from passing through the inside of the bearing

10. Indentation bruises

Phenomenon: Surface pits caused by stuck solid foreign objects or impact and scratches on installation

the reason:

1) Intrusion of solid foreign bodies

2) Click into the peeling sheet

3) Impact and fall off caused by poor installation

4) Install in an inclined state

Measures:

1) Improve installation and usage methods

2) Prevent foreign matter from entering

3) If it is caused by sheet metal, check other parts
